How to Get a Sun-Kissed Glow

no sun required

When I was younger, I adored how my skin looked after a day at the beach – soft, dewy, and naturally radiant. However, as I’ve grown older, I have become more cautious of sun exposure. Nevertheless, I still yearn for that sunkissed appearance, even without the sun. If you’re like me and want a glowing appearance, you can recreate the look of a relaxed day at the beach with a few simple products.

Radiance Boosting Supplements

Achieving great skin begins with nourishing it from the inside out. Taking skin vitamins and supplements can support the health and rejuvenation of our body’s largest organ. These supplements can assist in addressing concerns like dryness, premature aging, and discoloration.

My go-to supplements come from The Beauty Chef, a company focusing on the connection between gut health and beauty.

A Restorative Skincare Routine

Having dry, tight skin can make us look unhealthy instead of having the desired sunkissed glow. To combat this, it’s important to have a natural and nourishing skincare routine that can help plump, nourish, and restore our skin all year round. To create such a routine, keep this simple routine in mind:

  1. Cleanser
  2. Exfoliator
  3. Treatment/Face Serums
  4. Moisturizer

I have shared my favorite links, and you can also refer to my previous posts, where I have discussed my skincare routine. You can find them here and here.

Wear Sunscreen

Exposure to UV rays can cause significant harm to our skin, including wrinkles, sun spots, and even specific forms of skin cancer. Be sure to include sunscreen with SPF in your daily skincare regimen to protect against these harmful effects. I love this featherlight Luxury Sun Ritual by Saint Jane; it protects while nourishing the skin.

Brush on the Bronzer

Using bronzer is your best bet if you’re looking for a way to achieve a sunkissed look. The Moonglow Bronzer by Jane Iredale combines four complimentary shades that give your skin a beautiful, sunkissed glow as if you’ve just returned from the beach. To apply, swirl a fan brush into the powder and buff it onto your cheekbones, forehead, jawline, bridge of your nose, or anywhere else you want to add some warm, bronzy color. You can even use it on your eyes for a subtle, summery look.

Illuminate with a Highlighter

To achieve a sunkissed look, a highlighter stick is essential. It’s the perfect product that instantly gives your face a dewy, healthy, and radiant appearance. To apply, swipe the highlighter stick directly onto your skin and use your fingers to blend it outwards. However, before heading out, check yourself in the mirror to ensure no strong shimmer lines. The Glow Time Highlighter Stick is my choice for its clean formula and three shimmery options.

Sunkissed Lips

Complete your sunkissed look with a lip balm instead of gloss, as it may clash with your dewy glow. My favorite balm hydrates protects from the sun, and adds subtle color. The Lip Drink Lip Balm in Crush is perfect for day and night.
