women over 50Have you stepped outside in sandals yet, only to retreat an hour later and grab socks, shoes, and a coat?

Same.

It’s that time of year: Fake Spring—when the sunshine lies, and the wind says “not so fast.”

I’ve been soaking up every sunbeam like it’s a personal invitation to sit outside with my diet Coke…
…and then I’m back inside by 3 p.m., wrapped in a blanket, book in hand, with a hot coffee like winter never left.

I’ve also been leaning into little things that spark joy:

✔️ Joined the local library (and yes, I already have a stack of books)
✔️ Found treasures thrifting
✔️ Started reading a 1,200-page novel because why not?
✔️ And… I’m planning an upcoming trip to New Orleans! I’m so looking forward to getting away, dressing up in something fun, and soaking up all the culture, food, and joy the city offers.

Sometimes, the smallest acts (and the big getaways) help you feel most like yourself again.

This month at Wear the Damn Boots, we’re focusing on:

Celebrate Aging, Beauty & Self-Worth (On Your Terms)

We’re tossing out the timeline.
We’re ignoring the filters.
We’re ditching the idea that confidence has an expiration date.

Because real radiance doesn’t come from erasing years—it comes from embracing every one of them.

This April, you’ll see:

30 days of Ageless Affirmations on Instagram
New blog posts + reels about joyful resistance, rest, and self-expression
Small ways to say “no thanks” to burnout—and “yes please” to you

I hope you are finding joy on the daily. I’ve curated a list of some of the things I’m loving right now. Enjoy!
