The house feels a little different these days—livelier, warmer, and filled with the sound of tiny paws. Meet Coconut, my sweet rescue pup from Texas, who has officially stolen my heart. After months of quiet, she’s brought a new kind of joy into my home, the kind that comes with wagging tails and puppy kisses. She’s also been a surprisingly wonderful distraction from the endless cycle of doomscrolling. When she drops her toy in my lap, the news can wait.
Summer, for me, has officially closed its chapter. Last week, I returned to work, preparing for new teachers and gearing up for another school year. That shift from summer’s slow mornings to the energy of fresh beginnings is always bittersweet, but there’s something hopeful about it, too, like opening the first page of a brand-new book.
Confidence Tip of the Week
Sometimes the best way to quiet the noise of the world is to focus on what’s right in front of you. Whether it’s a joyful distraction, a new challenge, or a small daily ritual, give yourself permission to lean into it fully. Presence is a powerful form of self-protection.
Things I’m Loving Right Now
-
Morning walks with Coconut – The perfect reminder to start the day with fresh air and movement. Here’s everything I’ve purchased for her so far!
-
A fresh stack of new notebooks – Because nothing says “new school year” like a clean page.
-
Iced coffee with vanilla and caramel – I know I’m late to the iced coffee craze, but I’m glad I finally jumped on board.

Earlier this summer, I shared My Summer Reading Stack—a peek at the books that kept me company during long afternoons and quiet mornings. I’ve got just one more book to finish from the list, and I’m curious… have you read any of them?
