Lisa’s Letter 4.29.2024

collection of coffee mugsAs we say goodbye to April, we look forward to a new month and new beginnings. April has been a transitional time, with its erratic weather and blooming flowers. We have witnessed nature’s canvas shift from the delicate pink of cherry blossoms to the vibrant hues of tulips and daffodils. The sun, staying a little longer each day, has enticed us outside, where we have savored the simple pleasures of a warm breeze and the scent of fresh rain.

April has also brought change to our lives. Perhaps it was a chance to reassess our goals for the year or the inspiration to start a new project. Whatever April holds for you, let’s carry its spirit of renewal into the coming months with hearts full of gratitude for the beauty surrounding us.

As we turn the page on the calendar, I am preparing for my 55th birthday in May. Birthdays are such a special event that marks the gift of aging. I’ve been reflecting on the lessons I’ve learned, which I will share later.

Let’s talk about something close to many of our hearts: coffee mugs. In the quiet moments of the morning, there’s nothing quite like holding your favorite mug filled with steaming coffee or tea. It’s a ritual that sets the tone for the day ahead.

Some of us have cherished mugs we’ve used for years, and the handle is perfectly molded to our grip. Others might have an ever-growing collection, with each mug telling a story of a place visited or a special moment commemorated. And then there are those quirky mugs that never fail to bring a smile, whether they’re adorned with funny quotes or whimsical designs.

So, dear readers, I pose a question: What does your coffee mug say about you? Is it a reflection of your personality, a token of a fond memory, or simply a vessel for your favorite brew? Feel free to share your coffee mug tales with us!

Does Drinking Out of a Specific Coffee Mug Impact Your Coffee’s Flavor?

I finished the Crescent City series and loved it.

I listened to this audiobook, and I think it’s my favorite book of 2024.

I love this outdoor rug for my deck

and the perfect table to go with it

I ordered this dress in my favorite color

I can’t wait to wear this dress to wear to a wildflower wedding

I am trying these denim shorts but could be returning them

and these barrel jeans in cream

May this week be filled with joy, laughter, and the comforting warmth of a good cup of coffee in a beloved mug. I hope you enjoy everything I’m reading, loving, and buying!

My new favorite mug is one I bought at a college visit for my oldest child. It was his “reach school” and I bought it in secret and squirreled it away. When he received his acceptance, I brought it out in celebration. 🙂
